I do not even know where to begin on commenting on this. I take a lot of pride at being open-minded on anything at all and so far the worst I have endured was Male Pregnancy. I was on the edge of acceptance and rejection but I was able to accept it with an open-mind. I think all knowledge makes one smarter. I could accept Gay or Lesbian couples wholeheartedly - with no problems at all.

However this one pushes me to the edge. It is about an Australian 'couple' who is on a TV plea for acceptance. The man is a 61 year old man and the women is his daughter of 39 years of age.

I do not even know if Nature indulge in parent and offspring incestuous relationships. Do lions have babies with their female offspring? - I wonder.

My stand in this is utter indifference. While most people would consider my 'indifference' as insulting already but the only reason why I do not utterly proclaim that I find this disgusting, loathing and displeasing is that I pride myself at being liberal.

I think this is as liberal as anybody can get in their life.

PS: Do not misinterpret my stand on this as acceptance - I do not. I highly, strongly, certainly and absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. Pardon my quadruple positives but I find it fitting here.

Update:
I could not get a youtube clip on this Australian Incest couple but instead I got a CNN clip about a German Brother and Sister couple. Which is equally disturbing as well. They had four kids and the first two was taken from them so they tried again. The first two was born with disabilities probably because they were conceived from incestuous sex (MANnn! My hair stands up on end when I type these two words! Let alone THINKING ABOUT IT!). Notice that the sister is awfully quiet about this - I think she is uncomfortable about the media coverage they are getting. But than who wouldn't?

I notice that in these two cases both of the couple started out separated for years and they were united again. Then I think it is advisable to not separate babies for this reasons alone.

The outcome for this brother and sister couple is predictable - that the German court exercise the constitution of the country and upholds the incest law.

I kinda pity that these couples received so much overwhelming resistance and harassment from the society - I do understand that couples should have the freedom to love whoever they want but for these cases are just too EXTREME.

I say let them live anyway - there is nothing the government can do but I do not think I would be too comfortable living next door as their neighbor. I am sorry I sound discriminating.

Obviously, I have been researching a lot on incest - mainly to make an educated judgment of whether it is condoned by mother nature or not. Any information on this would give me better insight on the issue for the general audience to consider.

I just read that pet owners do realize some incestuous and homosexual activities amongst pups. I have seen many humorous youtube video about dogs humping their owners leg and such - sure it is funny when I see it but those clips now indicate something deeper in natural biology. There is this particular article I read (HERE) that was my source. I guess nature DO subject to 'un-natural' behaviors on extreme conditions. I could argue that in nature the close cousin to the domestic dogs: the hyena, do not subject to incest because they force the males out of the clan/cackle. (I just found this fact out here: Female Hyenas Avoid Incest By Causing Male Relatives To Leave Home) It seems that Nature DO discourage incest because it is particularly harmful to the genetic pool of the species - the idea is More Variety is Better and Less Variety is Harmful. So yeah - nature do make efforts avoiding incest but when the habitat or livelihood of the species are 'tempered' with by humans then 'inorganic' behaviors might arise. I am not saying that humans are responsible for this but the pet-owner's lack of understanding in ecological and wildlife balance are the true perpetrators. Humans have a large tendency to 'humanize' their pets which is certainly promoting 'inorganic' habitat to the animal they have. My point is that, animals are not made to be human pets in the first place. Animals are not suppose to confined to a house (although cats and dogs are learning to adapt to that) and they are not suppose to be companions to humans. In fact, modern dogs and cats do not exists in the wild at all. We have over the years domesticated wolves, fox, etc from the canine family to be domesticated dogs we have today with selective breeding which took decades to evolve into our modern day dogs. Same goes for cats. Never you seen a fox with black and white like the domesticated Dalmations or a tiny Lion that catches mice.

I can finally conclude that nature DO NOT advocate incest or homosexuality at all. At least not in the WILD - simply because it would be genetically harmful to the species. Thus animals are naturally 'engineered' to withdraw from any 'inorganic' behaviors like incest and homosexuality.

So, how about the cases in humans like I mentioned above? Well there is one thing I can confidently say and that is:
We are all engineered to feel DISGUSTED.
I think that is how mother nature works her magic in us too; just like the hyena example I gave above. I think it is natural for us to feel disgusted and that is how humans are made through hundreds of thousands of years of Natural Selection. Besides, that you can observe a slight clue as to the cause for the incest in the two examples. I think the fact that they were separated for a long periods of time since young and reunited is very indicative of the reason why this all happen in the first place. I am very tempted at 'classifying' the long period of separation and later reunion as a derivative of my concept of 'inorganic' habitat or livelihood - because I do not think it is apart of our innate authentic 'wild'. But at the same time I am on a debate with myself that we have abandon that side of our nature for hundreds of thousands of years considering the 'habitat' we live in right now are almost all could be classified as 'inorganic habitat'. Anyway, there are too many unsolvable paradoxes like this in my mind. Which is at the verge of having me convinced that life, nature and the universe are all filled with paradoxes when one analyze it far enough.

So, I think it is justified for me now to feel disgusted of the news above but knowing myself I still have a huge animosity as to narrow-mindedness. My behavior/emotion says that it is not acceptable and my conscious mind says that I should not be opinionated. Hence, after all of these analysis and research and contemplation - I would still say that I am just INDIFFERENT about incest among humans. I do not accept it nor do I object it. But I highly do not recommend it!
